Men’s Basketball Welcomes Six Newcomers Ahead of 2026-27 Season

Men’s Basketball Head Coaching Chair Mike Martin ‘04 has announced six newcomers ahead of the 2026-27 season, the class includes five freshmen and one transfer. The five freshmen include Timmy Bollin, KJ Francis, Emmanuel Jamgbadi, Logan Jones, and Rykan Woo, Ray Cuevas joins Brown as a transfer from Bowdoin.
“We are excited about this group,” Martin said. “They’re competitive and talented, they are men of high character, and they’ve chosen Brown for the right reasons. They’ve had success at every level prior to Brown but what really stands out is their work ethic. We are confident that they will not only fit the culture we've built, but advance it. Combining them with our returners has our program ready for the 2026-27 season."
Timmy Bollin
Raynham, Massachusetts | The Newman School | Guard | 6-7
Before Brown: Southeast Conference All-Star and a Taunton Daily Gazette All-Scholastic Player (2021 & 2022). New England Basketball League All-Defensive Team and Third Team honoree. At The Newman School, Timmy was a two-time captain and a two-time AAA Champion. Timmy was also a prep school national champion.
Why Brown: “Brown felt like home. The people, culture, and opportunity to be in the Ivy League on and off the court made it a perfect fit.”
Ray Cuevas
Ipswich, Massachusetts | Pingree School | Bowdoin | Guard | 6-3
Before Brown: A transfer from Bowdoin, Ray was the NESCAC Rookie of the Year, the Bowdoin Most Outstanding First Year Award winner, All-Maine First Team, D3Hoops All-Region First Team, a member of the NESCAC Academic Team. As a sophomore at Bowdoin, Ray had per game averages of 22.2 points, 4.4 rebounds, 2.6 assists, 1.2 steals, 49.0 field goal percentage, and a 45.0 three-point percentage.
At Ipswich as a freshman and sophomore in high school, Ray was named a CAL All-State selection twice. At Pingree as a junior and senior, Ray was a two-time League MVP and a two-time NEPSAC Class B All-Star. Overall, Ray was a four-time Salem News All-Star, a two-time Boston Herald All-Scholastic, and a two-time Boston Globe All-Scholastic.
Why Brown: “I chose Brown because of its combination of elite academics and the support I received from the coaching staff during my transfer process. After my visit, I felt Brown was the right fit for me because of how welcoming the team was and how invested the coaches were in both the program and their players. Watching the staff prepare for their final game against Penn also stood out to me. Their attention to detail reinforced that Brown was a place where I could continue to grow both on the court and in the classroom.”
KJ Francis
Fort Lauderdale, Florida | Calvary Christian Academy | Guard | 6-4
Before Brown: Senior year captain at the Calvary Christian Academy, two-time All-County (2025 & 2026), back-to-back state champion (2025 & 2026), and a four-year varsity player. Averaged 8.3 points per game, 3.9 rebounds per game, 3.2 assists per game, and 1.7 steals per game as a junior then 12.6 points per game, 4.8 assists per game, 3.0 assists per game, and 2.1 steals per game as a senior.
Why Brown: “Brown was the best fit for me overall academically and athletically.”
Emmanuel Jamgbadi
Edo, Nigeria | Prolific | Forward | 6-8
Before Brown: Named First Team All-CIF (2023), PUC Tournament MVP (2023), an Adidas 3SSB All-American (2024), and a FIBA International Camp Invite recipient (2025).
Why Brown: “I chose Brown for the education and the community.”
Logan Jones
Bethesda, Maryland | The Potomac School | Wing | 6-7
Before Brown: Three-year varsity captain at the Potomac School and an All-MAC Team selection.
Why Brown: “I chose Brown because of the coaching staff’s belief in me and their clear vision for my development. Paired with Brown’s exceptional academics and the opportunities available through the university, it was a place I could see myself growing both on and off the court.”
Rykan Woo
Chicago, Illinois | DePaul College Prep | Guard | 6-1
Before Brown: Two-time captain at DePaul College Prep, Co-MVP (2026), 1,000-point scorer in two years at DePaul, the fourth leading scorer in program history, second in program history in three-point field goals, and first in program history in three-point field goal percentage.
Illinois High School Association Boys Basketball State Champion (2025), two-time Illinois Basketball Coaches Association First Team All-State, two-time Chicago Sun Times All-Area top 20, Chicago Sun Times All-City First Team (2026), Chicago Sun Times All-City Second Team (2025), Chicago Sun Times Breakout Player of the Year (2025). Two-time Chicago Cath League (CCL) Conference Champion, First Team All-CCL (2026), Second Team All-CCL (2025), two-time Second Team AP All-State, Pontiac Holiday Tournament (PHT) All-Tournament First Team (2025). SLAM Magazine / NBPA Players' Voice Awards Mr. Clutch Player of the Year (2022).
Prom King at DePaul College Prep, graduated with Honors with Distinction (4.0 GPA or higher), graduated with St. Louise de Marillac Service Distinction (completed 50+ service hours at Chicago area non-profits and 25+ service hours on campus).
