Caldwell Paces Women’s Cross Country at NCAA Northeast Regional

RIVERDALE, N.Y. – Junior Heidi Caldwell (Hanover, N.H.) placed 24th overall to lead the Brown University women's cross country team to a 15th-place finish at the NCAA Northeast Regional Friday morning at Van Cortlandt Park.

Brown totaled 394 points to place 15th overall, while Providence captured first place with 44 points.

"Heidi performed very well today. It was nice to finish her cross country career on a solid note," said Director of Track & Field/Cross Country Tim Springfield.

Caldwell, who placed 11th at the Ivy Heptagonal Championships, completed the 6-kilometer course in a time of 20:57.9 to earn All-Region honors. Junior Leah Eickhoff (Hanover, N.H.) and freshman Lucy Van Kleunen (Philadelphia, Pa.) finished 62nd and 80th, respectively, in times of 21:41.3 and 22:03.6.

Senior Kat Grimes (Chatham, N.J.) placed 112th as she crossed the finish line in a time of 22:28.3, while sophomore Kate Buss (Blacksburg, Va.) took 116th at 22:30.6 to round out the Brown scorers.
