Women’s Cross Country Finishes Third at Ivy League Heptagonal Championships

Princeton, N.J. – The Brown University women's cross country team combined for 93 points to finish in third place at the 2012 Ivy League Heptagonal Cross Country Championship hosted at Princeton on Saturday afternoon. Cornell won the team title with 31 points, followed by Princeton with 91 points in second.  To view the complete results, click here. 

Junior Heidi Caldwell (Hanover, NH) led the Bears on the 6-kilometer course at West Windsor Fields in Princeton, N.J.,  with a 20:36.5 to finish fourth overall, and was closely followed by senior Olivia Mickle (Sacramento, CA), who placed fifth, with a 20:39.0. Junior Margaret Connelly (Chicago, IL) was right on the heels of Mickle finishing in seventh place with a 20:44.3.

Brown's Leah Eickhoff (Hanover, NJ) and Bree Shugarts (Lewistown, PA) were the next to finish for the Bears earning 38th and 39th places, respectively. Eickhoff ran the race in 21:50.0 and Shugarts posted a 21:51.3.

Competitors Alexandra Conway (Manchester, NH) recorded a 22:29.5 for 52nd place and Elaine Kuckertz (Clarendon Hills, IL) completed the course in 22:29.8 for 53rd to round out the Bears' competitors.

The Bears will now compete for the NCAA Northeast Regional held on November 9.
