Women’s Cross Country Finishes Seventh at 2011 Ivy League Heptagonal Championships; Connelly & Caldwell Earn Second Team All-Ivy honors

Princeton, NJ- The Brown University women's cross country team finished seventh place at the 2011 Ivy League Heptagonal Cross Country Championships hosted at Princeton University on Saturday.  The Bears totaled 153 points and were led by sophomores Margaret Connelly and Heidi Caldwell

Cornell claimed the title with 49 points, followed by Columbia (51), Princeton (94), Yale (104), Dartmouth (119), Harvard (129),  and Penn (226).  

Connelly was Brown's top finisher coming in 10th place overall with a time of 22:30.3 on the 6,000m course, and sophomore Heidi Caldwell followed close behind in 14th place with a 22:38.8.   Rookie Abigail Jones came in next with a 23:31.2 (41st) , and then junior Elaine Kuckertz crossed the finish line in 23:45.3 for 43rd.   Rounding out the scorers for Brown was senior Rosie Fleming, who came in 45th overall with a time of 23:46.9. 

Also running today was sophomore Kat Grimes (50th) with a 24:02.5, and senior Ari Garber (52nd) with a 24:06.9.
