Bethlehem, PA- The Brown women's cross country team finished 12th overall with 393 points at the 38th annual Lehigh University Paul Short Invitational. More than 5,000 runners from 450 colleges and high schools competed on Friday afternoon, as Brown sophomore Margaret Connelly led all Brown finishers with a time of 21:15 on the women's gold 6k for 33rd place overall.
Providence College captured the team title with 101 points, followed by Villanova in second with 104 points and Syracuse in third with 125.
Following close behind Connelly today was sophomore Heidi Caldwell, who ran the course in 21:19 for 39th place, and senior Ari Garber ran a 21:47 for 69th. Next up was junior Olivia Mickle with a 22:01 coming in 82nd, and junior Bree Shugarts ran a 22:54 (170th) and junior Brianna Rogers crossed the finish line in 23:01 (183rd). Also finishing for the Bears was freshman Alexandra Conway with a 23:10 (200th).

The Bears will now prep for the New England Championships on Oct. 8 in Boston, Mass., and will then host the Rothenberg Run on Oct. 14.
