Women's Water Polo Ranked Third In The Country Academically

Providence, RI - The Brown women's water polo team turned in a combined GPA of 3.40 this past spring, ranking it third in the nation. Forty teams finished with a combined GPA over a 2.75 with Brown rounding out the top three, finishing behind Macalester College, which turned in the top GPA 3.54 and Chapman University with a 3.44 GPA. Individually, athletes are separated into three categories, Outstanding which has a GPA of 3.71-4.00, Superior a 3.41-3.70 GPA and Excellent, which ranges from 3.20-3.40 GPA.
Freshman Alexis Blaxberg (Miami, FL), was the Bears' top finisher academically turning in a 3.60 GPA for Superior honors. Also finishing with Superior honors were sophomores Elizabeth Balassone (Los Altos, CA), Claire Angyal (Sydney, AUS) and Paige Lansing (Newport Beach, CA). Balassone turned in a 3.57 GPA while both Angyal and Lansing finished with a 3.42 mark.
Freshman Anne Deggelman (Menlo Park, CA) earned a spot on the Excellent list turning in a 3.33 GPA.
