Davis, CA - The women's water polo team fell to UC Davis 9-3 this afternoon. Thee Bears were unable to stop Davis' offense as Brown was outscored in each quarter, 2-1, 3-1, 2-1, and 2-0.
Davis went up 2-0 early in the first, but sophomore Alexis Blaxberg cut it to a one goal deficit when she netted a two meter shot with seventeen seconds remaining in the opening quarter. After another UC Davis goal junior Paige Lansing brought it back to a one goal deficit when she cashed in on a counter attack. Davis went on to score four goals before junior Elizabeth Balassone recorded the third and final goal. Sophomore Anne Deggelman recorded three saves in the loss. Defensively, junior Caitlin Fahey posted two steals while sophomore Ally Wyatt recorded two steals and two assists.
Brown will return to action tomorrow afternoon when they take on California-Berkley at 12:00 p.m. WT.
