Women's Water Polo Goes 2-1 In This Afternoon's Match-Ups

Oneonta, NY - After falling to host Hartwick 13-7, the Bears rebounded dominating Utica 20-2 and Queens College 20-3 in this afternoon's contests. Anne Deggelman anchored the defense making 14 stops in today's match-ups.

In the loss to Hartwick the Bears were unable to overcome a 7-2 halftime deficit, only scoring five goals in the final two quarters to Hartwick's six. Paige Lansing tallied three goals, while Karlyanne Kopra, Alexis Blaxberg, Ally Wyatt and Stanton each posted a goal. Anne Deggelman recorded six blocks and two steals in the cage for the Bears.

In the 20-2 win over Utica, the Bears were lead by Elizabeth Battlestone's four goals and two steals while Lansing recorded two goals and four steals in the contest. Also posting two goals in the win was Caitlin Fahey, Emily Schwartz, Stanton and Ferguson. Rounding out the scoring for the Bears was Claire Angyal, Ally Wyatt, and Palmer who all netted a goal. Lansing was strong on defensive grabbing two steals and Deggelman anchored the defense making four blocks and two steals in the win.

In an all out team effort the Bears dominated the match-up with Queens College as 11 members tallied goals in the win, lead by Schwartz who posted four goals. Cuberthson was all over the pool netting two goals and grabbing four steals. Battlestone was also a force tallying two goals and two steals. Deggelman posted four blocks in the win,
