Cambridge, MA - The women's water polo team avenged an earlier loss to Harvard, with a 6-4 victory over the Crimson this afternoon. Sophomore Paige Lansing (Newport Beach, CA) led the Bears with three goals in this afternoon's match.
Sophomore Elizabeth Balassone (Los Altos, CA) started off the scoring for the Bears, when she put in a two meter shot to get the Bears ahead early. Lansing scored the first of her three goals in the second quarter to pad Brown's lead. Sophomore Caitlin Fahey (Seattle, WA) and classmate Karlyanna Kopra (Kamuela, HI) rounded out the scoring for Brown each recording a goal. Freshman Alexis Blaxberg (Miami, FL) dished out two assists while senior Diana Livermore (Menlo Park, CA) drew three ejections.
Freshman Anne Deggelman (Menlo Park, CA) had seven saves in net for Brown. Fahey recorded seven steals for the Bears defense.
Brown will return to action Friday March 11, when they will travel to Utica for a 8:00 match with the Pioneers.
