PROVIDENCE, RHODE ISLAND – The Brown women's water polo team (15-19, 5-3 CWPA Southern) finished second in the 2013 CWPA Southern Division Championships this afternoon, falling to #12 Princeton, 12-4, in the first place game at the Katherine Moran Coleman Aquatics Center.

The first quarter of the championship game was a defensive struggle for Brown, as Princeton took an early 2-0 lead, but the Bears were able to bring the Tigers' attack to a stop. The second quarter continued to be a great defensive match-up, as Princeton took a 6-2 lead into the half. The Tigers pulled away in the third, but the Bears battled back late in the game, scoring two goals in the final quarter of play. Princeton had moved too far ahead however, holding on for the 12-4 victory over Brown and putting the Bears in second place in their division.
Offensively Brown was lead by senior Katharine Booher's (Palo Alto, CA) two goals and one assist. Sophomores Madison Pepper (Baytown, TX) and Liz Rosen (San Anselmo, CA) also found the back of the net with one goal each. In the cage, junior Sarah Shin (Fullerton, CA) had an impressive 11 blocks.
