Providence, RI- Brown University's Madison Pepper (Baytown, Texas) netted eight goals in helping the women's water polo team to a fourth place finish at the CWPA Eastern Championship hosted at the Katherine Moran Coleman Aquatics Center at Brown. For her outstanding performance, she earned Rookie of the Tournament honors and has also been named the Southern Division Rookie of the Week.
Pepper, a First Team All-East and All-South selection, opened the Eastern Championship with four goals in Brown's 16-6 victory over Gannon. She added the game-winner with 3:22 remaining in Brown's 5-4 win upset over No. 12 Indiana before knocking in a pair of goals in a 7-6 overtime loss to eventual champion No. 13 Princeton in the semis.
During the third place game, Pepper notched a goal in a 10-7 loss to Michigan as the Bears finished fourth overall, the team's best finish at the Eastern Championship since a fourth place mark in 2004 at Bucknell.
The recognition marks her second Rookie of the Week honor this year as she previously garnered the March 12 award.
