Water Polo Falls to Princeton, 9-8, in Southern Division Championship Game

Lewisburg, PA- The Brown women's water polo team (19-14) fell 9-8 to Princeton University (25-4) in the Collegiate Water Polo Association Southern Division Championship game this afternoon. Sophomore Sarah Presant led the Brown offense with three goals.

The Tigers jumped out to a 2-1 lead in the first quarter and both teams netted one goal each in the second to give Princeton a 3-2 lead at halftime. The Bears were outscored 4-3 in the third quarter, but edged Princeton 3-2 in the fourth to give Princeton the 9-8 victory. The Tigers scored the winning goal with just 2.4 seconds left on the clock.

Also adding to the Bears' offense was Emily McNamara and Kate Woods with two goals apiece, and Madison Pepper tallied one goal. Evan Cranston picked up 10 saves in goal to lead the defense.

Brown will now host Hartwick on April 22 and also host the CWPA Eastern Championships April 27-29.
