Providence, RI- At the Eastern Championship banquet this evening, five Brown women's water polo players received Northern Division honors. Seniors Stephanie Laing, Sarah Glick and Lauren Presant received First Team All-North honors, while freshman Brittany Westerman and junior Joanna Wohlmuth were selected to the Second Team.
Laing has helped the Bears to a 19-14 overall record this season and her 322 saves this season set a Brown school record to earn her second consecutive First Team honor.
Presant is earning her third consecutive First Team honor as she leads Brown in scoring with 76 goals and 30 assists. Presant set a Brown school record last year for goals in a single season (100) and also goals in a career with 331 goals. Glick, earning a spot on the first team for the third time in her career, leads the Bears with 76 goals and 64 assists for 140 points this season. Glick holds Brown records in assists in a game (6), assists in a season (78) and assists in a career.
Wohlmuth has now been recognized on the Second Team for the second straight season. Wohlmuth leads the team in ejections drawn with 81, and has scored 39 goals this season. Westerman is receiving her first honor from the CWPA. She scored 26 goals this season for the Bears and has handed out 17 assists.
