Harvard Earns 7-6 Overtime Win Against Brown Women’s Water Polo

Cambridge, MA- Senior goalkeeper Stephanie Laing (Ann Arbor, MI) tallied a Brown University record-high 24 saves in net last night, but it wasn't enough for the Brown women's water polo team to defeat Harvard, as the squad fell 7-6 in overtime.

After taking a 2-1 lead after the first quarter, the Bears found themselves trailing 4-2 midway through the third quarter, and then 6-4 in the fourth. However, Brown was able to come back and tie the game, but its run fell short in the overtime period.

Leading the offense was senior Sarah Glick (Bonita, CA) with three goals and two assists, while senior Lauren Presant (Poway, CA) added two goals.

"We just didn't play well," said Head Coach Felix Mercado. "They were the aggressor and we were never able to match their intensity and fell short. We will get back to work and get ready for the games this weekend."
