Providence, RI- Senior Stephanie Laing (Ann Arbor, MI), senior Sarah Glick (Bonita, CA) and freshman Brittany Westerman (Palo Alto, CA) received CWPA Northern Division honors after a solid weekend out west for the Brown University women's water polo team. Laing received Northern Division Defensive Player of the Week honors, while Glick was named Player of the Week and Westerman was the Rookie of the Week.
Brown goalkeeper Stephanie Laing combined for 53 saves and six steals en route to a 3-2 record during Brown's first week of its west coast swing. Laing helped Brown to a 9-7 upset win against 17th ranked Cal State Bakersfield with 10 saves, 13 in an 11-7 loss to LMU, 11 in a 12-4 victory against Fresno Pacific, eight in an 8-4 win over Sonoma State and then had 11 in a 10-6 loss to UC Davis.
Glick had a strong week as well, tallying 10 goals and nine assists during Brown's first week on the west coast. She led Brown to a 8-4 win over Sonoma State with four goals and two assists, and helped the Bears to a 12-4 win over Fresno Pacific with three goals, two assists and two steals. Glick then notched one goal in Brown's 10-6 loss to UC Davis and also tallied two against LMU.
Freshman Brittany Westerman helped Brown with five goals and five assists in five games, including two during Bruno's upset over the 17th-ranked Bakersfield squad. She also added one goal in a loss to LMU and two against Fresno Pacific.
