Bakersfield, CA- The Brown women's water polo team picked up a 12-4 win over Fresno Pacific and an 8-4 victory over Sonoma State at the Roadrunner Invitational at CSU Bakersfield this afternoon.
Joanna Wohlmuth and Sarah Glick led Bruno's offense against Fresno Pacific with three goals apiece, while Stephanie Laing picked up 11 saves in the cage. The score was tied 3-3 after the first eight minutes, but the Bears went on a 9-1 run in the next three quarters to earn the win.
Besides her three goals, Glick also added two assists and two steals. Also scoring two goals each were Katharine Stanton, Brittany Westerman and Lauren Presant. Presant also handed out two assists to help the Bears to the win.
Against Sonoma, Glick led the squad with four goals to carry Brown to a 8-4 win. The score was tied 1-1 after the first quarter, and then outscored Sonoma 2-1 in both the second and third quarters and then 3-1 in the fourth to come out on top.
Wohlmuth chipped in with two goals, while Stanton and Claudia Ruiz pitched in with one each. Laing tallied eight saves in goal, while both Glick and Ruiz each handed out two assists.
