Brown University defeated Iona to win the final round of the Brown Invitational as senior Ceneca Calvert (Irvine, CA) recorded her seventh straight double double with 11 kills and 10 digs. And freshman Karalyn Kuchenbecker (Los Angeles, CA) recorded her fourth double double on the year with 13 kills and 11 digs.

The Bears won the match in four games winning the first two games 30-28 and 30-28. The third game went to the Gaels of Iona with a score of 30-28 and the final game was owned by the Bears 30-28.

Freshman Lauren Gibbs (Los Angeles, CA) recorded 14 kills on the night and senior Jessie Cooper added 20 kills to win the match.

Calvert surpassed Diane Schneider on the all-time record board for aces in a career. Calvert had two aces in tonight's match, making her total 65 and moving into fifth place in the record books.

Brown's next match will be Friday October 11, at Dartmouth at 7:00 p.m.
