Brown Wins First Game, But Falls to Buffalo in Four

The Brown University Volleyball Team (0-2) wins its first game, but falls to Buffalo in four in second round play of the Syracuse Tournament on the campus of Syracuse University.

Brown started off on top winning the first game 30-23.The Bears kept the remaining games close, but fell to Buffalo 30-23, 30-24 and 30-22 to give Buffalo the match.

Brown University Senior Ceneca Calvert (Irvine, CA) led the way for the Bears recording ten kills, 11 digs and two aces in another tight loss. Bears Senior Jessie Cooper (Tustin, CA) contributed 11 kills and two aces on the day as Brown Freshman Kim Highlund (Newark, CA) had another big day defensively with 11 digs.

The bears look to earn their first win of the season as they continue action this evening Saturday September 14 at 5:00 pm against Colgate in the Syracuse Volleyball Tournament.

The Bears will continue play after this tournament at the Florida Sate University Tournament September 20th and 21st. Brown will come to the Pizzitola Memorial Sports Center for their home opener which is set for Tuesday September 24 against Northeastern.
