The Brown University Volleyball team opened their season with a lose in tournament action against host team Syracuse on the evening of Friday September 13. With all three matches being decided by just six points or less the competition was evenly matched.
The Bears lost the first game by only three points, the second game had a margin of six points and the third and final game was decided by merely two points.
Brown junior Kim Highland (Newark, CA) led the Bears defense earning 14 digs. Freshman Karalyn Kuckenbecker (Los Angelas, CA) recorded 11 kills on the night. And, seniors Aneal Helms (Fallbrook, CA) and Ceneca Calvert (Irvine, CA) added two aces each as the Bears began their season
With two matches set to take place on Saturday September 14th the Bears look forward to more competition as their season gets under way . Brown will face Buffalo at 11 am and will go on to play Colgate at 5 pm in tournament action on the campus of Syracuse University in Syracuse, NY.
