Brown Volleyball Drops Final Match

Brown freshman Lauren Gibbs (Los Angeles, CA) accumulated 24 kills in a five game loss to Yale. The Bears won the first game 30-25, the Elis took the second game 31-29, Brown then took the third game 30-26 and the Elis won the fourth game 30-27 sending the match into a deciding final game.

The Bears were down 10-5, and battled their way back to 13-12, but could not finish the deal and lost the final game 15-12. Gibbs led the Bears in offense with her 24 kills with only five errors. Senior Jessie Cooper (Tustin, CA) was second in offense recording 23 kills.

Defensively Brown was led by junior Kim Highlund (Newark, CA) who recorded 21 digs as senior Ceneca Calvert (Irvine, CA) who contributed 20 digs. Sophomore Elvina Kung (Dix Hills, NY) added 11 digs in the match.

The Bears finish the season 10-16 overall and 6-8 in the Ivy League and will graduate five seniors.
