Brown Falls to Penn and Princeton

The Brown University Volleyball team fell to Pennsylvania University Friday evening in three games. The Quakers won the games 33-31, 30-22, and 30-17 and had four players with ten kills or more.

For the Bears freshman Lauren Gibbs (Los Angeles, CA) led the Brown offense recording 12 kills. Senior Angela Dunn (Katy, TX) contributed 11 kills. Defensively the Bears were led by junior Kim Highlund who accumulated 19 digs.

Brown then went on to play at Princeton this afternoon, where they were defeated 30-21, 30-23, and 30-25. Senior Jessie Cooper recorded her 300th kill on the season as she recorded 10 in the match. Dunn also accumulated 10 kills as sophomore Elvina Kung (Dix Hills, NY) led the Bears defensively with eight digs.

On the weekend freshman Leigh Martin (Freelton, ONT) accumulated 68 set assists, she is now fourth all time in set assists in a season at Brown with 1,139. The Bears are now 10-15 overall and 6-7 in the Ivy League, they will face Yale in their final match of the season this Wednesday November 20 at 7:00 p.m.
