Bears Fall to Crimson

The Brown University Volleyball Team fell in five games to the Crimson of Harvard. Brown lost the first game 30-27, but rallied back to win the next two games 30-22 and 33-31. Harvard then took the fourth game 30-27 and the fifth and deciding game 15-9.

Brown freshman Karalyn Kuchenbecker (Los Angeles, CA) led the way for the Bears with 19 kills and 20 digs, her ninth double double of the year. Senior co-captain Angela Dunn (Katy, TX) also recorded 19 kills as senior Jessie Cooper (Tustin, CA) added 14 kills.

Senior Aneal Helms (Falbrook, CA) accumulated 11 kills as freshman Leigh Martin added 67 set assists and three aces. Junior Kim Highlund (Newrak, CA) led the Bears in digs with 23 as sophomore Elvina Kung (Dix Hills, NY) added 17 and senior Ceneca Calvert (Irvine, CA) had 12.

The Bears are now 7-13 overall and 3-5 in the Ivy League with six Ivy League matches left. Brown hosts Dartmouth tomorrow Saturday November 2 at 4:00 p.m. in the Pizzitola Gymnasium.
