Volleyball Falls To Princeton, 3-1

Princeton, NJ - The volleyball team (7-13, 4-5) suffered their second loss of the weekend at the hands of Princeton (15-6, 6-3), 3-1 this afternoon. Junior Lauren Gibbs (Los Angeles, CA) had another stellar performance offensively recording 19 kills earning a .302 hitting percentage in this afternoon's match.

Freshman Julie Mandolini-Trummel (Crystal Lake, IL) posted 14 kills while sophomore Liz Cvitan (Malibu, CA) tallied 11 kills for the Bears. Freshman Katie Lapinski (Niles, IL) recorded her second consecutive double-double this weekend, posting 10 kills and 17 digs against the Tigers. Junior setter Leigh Martin (Freelton, ONT) also recorded a double-double against Princeton with 54 assists and 10 digs.

Coming into today's match senior Elvina Kung (Dix Hills, NY) only needed 26 digs to become the all-time digs in a season leader. Kung recorded 39 digs, passing Tomo Nakanishi who held the spot since 1996. Also pitching in defensively was Gibbs and Mandolini-Turmmel each posting four blocks.

The Bears will return home and take on Harvard Friday, November 5 for a 7:00 Ivy League match up.
