Bears Lose In Three Games To San Diego

San Diego, CA - The Brown volleyball team (1-5) lost its third game of the USD Invitational to the host Toreros (10-3) in three games, 30-21, 30-23, 30-25. Despite the loss, the Bears played their best game of the tournament, performing well against a San Diego team that just missed a top 25 ranking this week.
Rikki Baldwin's (Magnolia, TX) 12 kills and Katie Lapinski's (Niles, IL) 16 digs were both match highs. Natalie Meyers (Huntington, CA) had 25 assists to lead the Bears. Co-captain Shawn-Elyse Tulac (Claremont, CA) was all over the court, tallying seven kills and seven digs. Also performing well for Brown were Julie Mandolini-Trummel (Crystal Lake, IL), who had six kills and two blocks, and Lyndse Yess (Eugene, OR), who had eight digs.
Brown's last match of the tournament will be its toughest. The Bears finish with No. 11 Wisconsin at 2 p.m. Pacific.
