Bears Fall To San Jose State In Straight Games

Durham, NH - The Brown volleyball team (1-2-0) dropped its final match of the UNH Tournament Saturday evening, losing 3-0 to San Jose State. Bruno failed to get over 20 points in any game, falling 30-12, 30-18 and 30-18.
In the first and third games, the Bears did a share of the damage to themselves, committing 10 errors in each game. In the second game, when they were able to raise their hitting percentage to .353, the Spartans raised their game as well, turning in a .515 hitting percentage to counter.
Leading the Bears again was Rikki Baldwin (Magnolia, TX) with 11 kills. Defensively, Katie Lapinski (Niles, IL) had 16 digs, followed by Lyndse Yess (Eugene, OR) with 10. For her efforts over the three games, Lapinski was named to the All-Tournament Team.
After returning home for the week, the Bears will travel to the University of San Diego for the USD Invitational for four games over Friday and Saturday.
