Harvard Tops Brown 3-1

Cambridge, Mass. – Brown (7-13, 1-7), which one its first league game last night, fought to make it two in a row at Harvard (6-14, 3-5), but fell in four sets against the Crimson (24-26, 25-22, 17-25, 13-25). Freshman Emma Pastore (Los Angeles, Calif.) led the Bears with 12 kills. 

Senior Megan Toman (Newport Beach, Calif.) made it two-straight games with 11 kills, tying her season high.

The two teams fought hard in the first set, battling to the 24-all point, but Harvard was able to gain the upper hadn and take the set 26-24.

Brown rebounded in the second set and with 16 kills and a .300 hitting percentage to take the set 25-22.

The Crimson defense locked down in the third and fourth set as the team registered 14 team blocks in the match.

Freshman Alexandra Rieckhoff (Laguna Beach, Calif.) just missed out on a double-double with 33 assists and nine digs. Senior Brianna Williamson (Cincinnati, Ohio) followed up her season-best performance last night with nine kills and nine digs.
