Sprint Squad Represents Bears at Sea Ray Relays

Knoxville, TN - A small representation of the men and women's track and field program travelled to the Sea Ray Relays this weekend, while others remained in Providence to compete in the Brown Invitational. The Sea Ray Relays were hosted by the University of Tennessee, Knoxville.

Junior captain Jamil McClintock (Plainfield, NJ) competed in the 110 meter hurdles, placing twelfth in a time of 14.45. Junior Paul Raymond placed thirty-first in the 100 meter dash with a 10.99 run.

Freshman Thelma Breezeatl (Manassas, VA) placed fourteenth in the 100 meter dash in 12.08. Junior captain Akilah King (Medford, MA) placed twentieth in the 400 meter run with a time of 56.19. The 4x100 meter relay team, made up of Breezeatl, King, Cheryl Scott '07 (Atco, NJ), and Lauren Hale '07 (Warren, RI) placed eleventh, running a 47.09 race.

Not all of the events could be completed as planned due to inclement weather conditions. The Bears will next compete as an entire team at the UConn Husky Springs Invitational on April 21 in Storrs, CT.
