Women's XC Improves Across the Board at NCAA NE Regional

Boston, MA-- The women's cross country team competed in the NCAA Northeast Regional Championships on Saturday, November 12 at Boston's Franklin Park. The women finished 8th overall out of 38 teams, a three place improvement over last year. Leading the way for the Bears were the team's seniors, Anya Davidson (Brunswick, ME), Anna Willard (Greenwood, ME), and Jilane Rodgers (Brea, CA). All three seniors had big improvements over last year's regional competition.
Davidson finished 21st overall with a time of 21:36.7 over the 6,000m course; nearly 50 places better than last year.
Willard was next in 31st (21:50.3), a 66-place improvement, followed by Rodgers in 48th (22:12.9), for a 91-place improvement.
The Bears posted personal bests in the 5-kilometer junior varsity race as well, improving greatly from their times at the New England Championships.
The Bears will field a limited squad at the ECAC Championships on Saturday, November 19 in New York City to close out the 2005 season.
