Women's Cross Country Takes Fourth Place At Great American Cross Country Festival

Charlotte, NC - The Brown women's cross country team placed fourth out of nine teams in the College "B" race on Friday at the annual Great American Cross Country Festival. The Bears had five runners place in the top 50 out of a field of 102 runners and finished with 90 points. Brown took 17th place (out of 26) in the University Champ race as well.

In the "B" race, freshman Annie Hatch placed 24th overall with a time of 20:44.7 Junior Caci Cambruzzi placed 27th with a time of 20:48.5. Sophomore Rachel Kitson finished third for the Bears and 34th overall with a time of 21:02.6 while freshman Anya Davidson closely followed at 37th place with a time of 21:05.8. Freshman Jean Coleman barely missed the top 50, placing 51st with a time of 21:49.2.

In the University Champ race, 174 runners competed. Sophomore Meredith Crocker had the best finish for the Bears, placing 45th overall with a time of 19:34.6. Senior Rosie Woodford took 107th place with a time of 20:30.5, sophomore Julie Komosinki took 112th place at 20:38.5 and freshman Anna Willard took 118th place at 20:41.6. Freshman Nora Sullivan placed 122th with a time of 20:45.8 and junior Kristin Ware placed 138th with a time of 21:06.6.

Brown continues competition tomorrow, Saturday Sept. 28 at the Iona Meet of Champions in New York.
