Bears Compete At Brown Springtime Invitational
King and Hale swept the top two spots in the 100m dash with times of 12.24 and 12.55, respectively. Freshman Nicole Burns (Newburgh, NY) won the 200m in 25.01 and was followed by Hale in third.
On the field, sophomore Keely Marsh (Annandale, NJ) was second in the pole vault (3.5m/11'5.75"). Senior co-captain Brittany Grovey (Hobbs, NM) finished second in the long jump (5.40m/17'8.75") and freshman Julia Chiang (Piedmont, CA) was fourth (5.39m/17'8.25"). Grovey also placed third in the triple jump (12.65m/41'6").
The Bears' 4x100m relay team placed second and the 4x400 took the top spot in their race.
The Brown Springtime Invitational was the team's last tune-up before the Heptagonal Championships next weekend in Philadelphia, hosted by the University of Pennsylvania.
