Women's Track Competes At 2003 USATF New England Championship

Boston, MA - The women's track team competed at the USATF New England Championship on Sunday Feb. 23. The meet had no team scoring. Highlighting the day for the Bears was sophomore Jaylon White (Minneapolis, MN) and junior Kate Cushing (Cranston, RI), who both turned in second place finishes. White finished with a time of 7.77 seconds in the 60 meters while Cushing timed in at 2:15.75 in the 800 meters.

Other highlights included sophomore Emma Sarro (Chatham, NY) placing third in the 5,000 meters. Freshman Kelly Powell (East Patchogue, NY) placed fourth in the 400 meters with a time of 59.27. Freshman Anna Willard (Greenwood, ME) took fourth in the mile with a time of 5:01.98. Junior Katherine Kosub (San Antonio, TX) was another fourth place finisher for Brown, timing in at 2:16.63 in the 800 meters.

The Bears will head up to Dartmouth on Saturday Mar. 1 for the 2003 Heptagonal Championships.
