Boston, MA - The Brown women's track team competed at the St. Valentine's Invitational on Feb. 14-15. Brown split its squad between the Armory Collegiate in New York City and the new indoor facility at Boston University. The St. Valentine's Invitational was an individual meet.
In the 3k, freshman Nora Sullivan (Cambridge, MA) led the way with a PR of 9:55.12, good for 10th all-time for Brown women. Freshman Anna Willard (Greenwood, ME) also ran in the same heat finishing in 10:05.65, only a second slower than her PR. Two PRs and one season best were turned in by three runners in the second heat. Freshman Jilane Rodgers (Brea, CA) ran 10:40.03. She was closely followed by freshman Carrie Hadler (Ann Arbor, MI) in 10:41.28, an 11-second PR, and junior Kristin Ware (Indianapolis, IN) in 10:43.54, a 12-second PR. The 5k race was just as successful for Brown. Freshman Anya Davidson (Brunswick, ME) ran 17:44.54 to shave 27 seconds off her previous PR and sophomore Rachel Kitson (Chapel Hill, NC) was close behind in 17:46.87 to improve by 16 seconds from her PR of last year. Davidson also moves into the 10th spot all-time for Brown with her performance. Sophomore Emma Sarro (Chatham, NY) also PR'ed at 18:31.95.
