PROVIDENCE, R.I. – The Brown men's and women's track and field teams posted several impressive performances over the weekend as the Bears competed at the IC4A/ECAC Championships at Princeton and the New Balance Twilight Meet at Bentley College.
At the ECAC/IC4A Championships, senior O'Sha Williams (Jamaica, N.Y.) was runner-up in the triple jump with a leap of 40-10.50. Michelle Bazile (Princeton, N.J.) was sixth in the hammer throw with a toss of 179-06.
Senior Emmaline Suchland (Seattle, Wash.) turned in a fourth-place finish in the finals of the 100 meters at 12.05. Sophomore Quinn Bornstein (Peacham, Vt.) was fourth in the 3,000 meters as she crossed in a time of 10:03.31.
On the men's side, Ryan Kelly (Greenwich, Conn.) was eighth in the 400 meters with a time of 48.22. Kelly joined Tosin Oyewole (Elkridge, Md.), Raul Green (Hopatcong, N.J.) and Brian Pfaff (Johannesburg, South Africa) on the 4x100 meter relay team, as the group took fifth in a time of 41.07.
In the field, Aaron Comery (Coventry, R.I.) and Matthew O'Hara (Riverside, Calif.) went 5-6 in the shot put with throws of 54-02 and 53-10.50. Rookie Owen Russell (Attleboro, Mass.) added fourth place in the hammer with a throw of 209-05.
At the New Balance Twilight Meet, rookie Gwenyth Winship captured first place in the 400 meters at 57.66. Bruno claimed the top four spots in the women's 1,500 meters, led by Taylor Worthy (Medfield, Mass.) with a first-place finish in a time of 4:26.30.
Max Haensel (Raleigh, N.C.) added a fourth-place finish in the 800 meters at 1:52.46.
