Women’s Track & Field Kicks Off Ivy Championships

PHILADELPHIA – The Brown University women's track & field team is currently in seventh place with six points after the opening day of the Ivy League Outdoor Track & Field Championships Saturday at Penn's Franklin Field.

Freshman Josie Natrasevschi (Fort Collins, Colo.) and senior Heather Vermillion (Visalia, Calif.) placed fourth and fifth, respectively, in the hammer with throws of 52.95 and 51.02, respectively.

Emmaline Suchland (Seattle, Wash.) and rookie Audrey Holt (Alpharetta, Ga.) both moved on to the finals of the 100 meters behind times of 12.01 and 12.10, respectively.

Taylor Worthy (Medfield, Mass.) had the third best time in the 800 meters at 2:08.11 to move on to the finals on Sunday. Junior Rachel Van Metre (Swarthmore, Pa.) qualified for the finals of the 100-meter hurdles at 14.56, while senior Alex Stanton (Medfield, Mass.) earned a spot in the 400-meter hurdles in a time of 1:00.43. Rookie Clare Peabody (Aptos, Calif.) qualified in the 1,500 meters in a time of 4:28.13.

The Bears wrap up the Ivy Championship tomorrow at Franklin Field.
