2014 Outdoor: Qualified and competed in the hammer throw at the NCAA East Regional … placed 10th in the hammer throw at the ECAC Championships … Finished third in the hammer throw and 12th in the shot put at the Ivy Championships … won the hammer throw at the Brown Invitational and Mark Young Invitational.

2013-14 Indoor: Placed seventh at the Ivy League Heptagonal Indoor Championship in the weight throw and fifth in the shot put … Placed second in the Brown University Invitational in the shot put with a throw of 41’ 11.5” … Placed third at the URI Invitational with a shot put throw of 42’ 6.75”.

2012-13: Had a strong showing at the Ivy League Heptagonal Outdoor Championships, finishing 6th in hammer and 12th in shot put…Went on to compete in hammer at the ECAC Championships, taking 16th place…Placed third in shot put and eighth in weight throw at the USATF New England Indoor Championships…Took 7th in shot put and 16th in weight throw at Indoor Heps.

2011-12: Represented Brown at the Junior Nationals for Hammer, indoor Heps 9th in shot put, outdoor heps 9th in hammer. 

Before Brown: Was a League and Area Champion in shot put for four years ... During her senior year she finished 12th in shot put at the California State Finals ... Also accomplished in the hammer, she finished second in 2010 and third in 2011 at the state championship ... As a senior, she was named Redwood High School Athlete of the Year.

Personal: Heather Lyn Vermillion, born April 4, 1993…Daughter of Dennis and Colleen Vermillion…Has two older brothers, Peter and Daniel…Also lettered in volleyball in high school…Winner of the President’s Volunteer Service Award.
