Buhr & Biblo Capture Titles at UConn Women’s All-Region Invitational

Storrs, CT- The Brown University women's track & field team had an outstanding day competing at the UConn Women's All-Region Invitational on Saturday afternoon in Stoors, Conn. Sophomore Victoria Buhr and senior Rachel Biblo brought home the only two titles for the Bears, but members of the squad broke many personal records and moved into Brown's All-Time Top Ten list with their performances this weekend.

In the field events, Buhr garnered the discus throw title with a toss of 153-07 (46.81m) and captured third place in the shot put with a toss of 43-05.75 (13.25m).

Freshman Jessica Eason finished in fourth place in both the shot put and discus throw. Eason tossed a 41-09.75 in the shot put and then finished with a 117-01 in the discus. Also competing in the discus was sophomore Lacey Craker, who finished in third place with a 143-11, and third in the hammer with a 179-09 as well.

Biblo had a huge triple jump performance for the Bears this afternoon jumping onto the Heps All-Time Top 10 list which puts her second all-time in the Brown record book with a personal record 41-08.50 (12.71m) to earn the title. Senior Gabriella Baiter followed right behind with a 40-11.50 (12.48m) to earn second place.

In the high jump, Jocelyn West finished in eighth place with a 5-01.00 distance, and Hanna McPhee finished in seventh in the pole vault with a height of 10-00 (3.05m).

Brown's 4x100m relay comprised of junior Susan Scavone, Nealy Williams, Brielle Beaudette and Colby Lubman finished fifth overall crossing the finish line in 49.16 seconds. Scavone also earned fifth place in the 100m hurdles in 14.65 seconds. Brown's 4x400m relay also finished in fifth, and earned a time of 3:55.04.

In the 1,500m run, Samantha Adelberg earned a 10-second personal record and now sits sixth-all time at Brown with her second place time of 4:27.05. Following close behind was Rosie Fleming's fourth place time of 4:33.95, which was a four-second personal record, and Bree Shugarts' 4:41.83 for ninth.

Colby Lubman finished fourth in the 400m dash in 56.57 seconds, and Caitlin Clark (2:13.37) and Emily Mepham (2:15.50) finished in seventh and eighth place in the 800m run.

Ari Garber ran a four-second PR and now ranks fourth all-time at Brown in the 3k with her second-place time of 9:41.85 in the 3,000m run, and Kesley Ramsey earned a 27-second PR in the 3k and ranks sixth all-time at Brown earning third place in the race with a 9:46.00.

The Bears will now host the Brown Invitational on Saturday, April 16, followed by the Larry Ellis Invitational at Princeton University on April 22-23.
