Providence, Rhode Island - Sprints/Hurdles Coach George Evans is pleased to announce the 2010 freshman speeders to the Brown University Track and Field Program.
"This is a very promising group of talented student-athletes coming to Brown from all corners of the country," said Evans. "We are looking forward to their progress over the next four years and the contributions they will all make towards the success of the track and field program."
Niina Al-Hassan (Pullman, WA) – Two time Washington State champion at 300mIH. Also placed 3rd at Washington State meet in javelin. PRs: 300mIH 44.51 – Javelin – 128'
Colby Lubman (Commack, NY) – St. Anthony's Invitational Champion at 400m and multiple time indoor and outdoor state qualifier in 300m and 400m. PRs – 400m 55.68 – 300m 40.09 – 55m 7.17.
Jennifer Sparks (Parkton, MD) – Finished 7th and 4th in the 300mIH and the 100HH respectively at the Maryland State Track Championships. PRs: 100HH 15.54 – 300mIH 47.27
Nealy Williams (Lexington, KY) – At the Kentucky State Meet, Nealy finished 4th in the long jump, 3rd in the triple jump and won both the 100HH and the 300mIH. PRs: 100HH 15.20 – 300mIH 44.40 – LJ 18'4.25 – TJ 36'7.25
Ajani Brown (Frisco, Texas) – Placed fourth at the UIL State Track and Field Championships in the 400m. PRs: 400m 48.49 – 200m 22.74.
Jonathan Hilgart (Newton, NJ) – Member of the second place sprint medley team at the Outdoor National Meet. Was a 5th place finisher in the 100m at the NJSIAA Group Meet. PRs: 200m 22.38 – 100m 11.08.
Samuel Howard (Lake Forest, IL) – Placed 5th at the IHSA State Meet in the 400m. PRs: 400m 49.31.
Arjun Pande (Pottstown, PA) – Placed 5th at the PIAA AAA District Championships and qualified for the PIAA State Meet. PRs: 110H 14.85
John Spooney (Northfield Center, OH) – Champion at 100m at the Midwest Meet of Champions. Finalist in Division 1 State 100m. Regional Champion in Northeast Ohio at 100m. Runner up at OHSA Indoor Championships at 60m. PRs: 100m 10.86 – 200m 21.79 – 400m 49.51 – 60m 6.92.
