Brown Track & Field Honored by USTFCCCA
Providence, RI- The Brown University men's and
women's track & field teams have recently been honored by the
United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches
Association (USTFCCCA) be being named Division I All-Academic Track
and Field Teams. The selection of the All-Academic Indoor and
Outdoor Scholar Teams of the Year award is based on a combination
of academic and athletic achievements. To be nominated, the
team must carry a minimum 3.0 cumulative grade point
average.
The men's team had the second highest team GPA
in the nation with a 3.39 GPA and the women were tied for seventh
with a 3.460. Also, four men and seven women were named to
the Division I All-Academic Team. To qualify for the USTFCCA
All-Academic Track and Field Team, the student-athlete must have
compiled a cumulative GPA of 3.30 and have met the NCAA Division I
Indoor or Outdoor automatic or provisional qualifying standard in
their respective sport.
