Performance Highlights

In 2008-09: Katie's 2009 outdoor season continued to get better with more reps of throwing the javelin at meets ... She peeked at the UConn Select Husky Invitational with a huge personal record of 41.41 meters (135'10"), moving her into fourth all-time on the top ten list ... She also qualified for ECACs with the throw ... Katie finished in the top five at many of the meets she threw in throughout the season and will look to build off of her third season of throwing javelin in 2010.

In 2007-08: Finished her first full season of throwing javelin and set PRs in nearly every meet ... She peaked at the Brown Springtime Invitational where she threw 128'6" finishing in third place.

In 2006-07: Katie found a new talent in throwing the javelin...She improved to a mark of 115'1" which placed her 8th at the Heptagonal Championships.

Collegiate Career Bests: Javelin 135' 10", (4th All-Time)

High School: Three-time conference champion and state qualifier in shot put...All-state shot put Jr. and Sr. year...All-state discus Sr. year with a PR of 118'8"...School and Conference record holder in shot put with a throw of 40'10.5".

Personal: Is an active member of Athletes in Action and loves to visit new places and eat new foods ... Also enjoys watching college football and basketball and writing for the Brown Daily Herald ... Daughter of Jim and Donna Wood, has one brother Darren.
