player on one of the nation's top-ranked teams, Olivia competed in
her first cross-country season (2007) with very little training,
relying on her soccer conditioning to take her to the California
State Championships. The next year, as a senior, Olivia chose to
leave soccer behind to concentrate on running. Again qualifying as
an individual, Olivia returned to the cross-country State Meet in
2008, where she finished 43rd. During her first season of track and
field, Olivia posted personal bests of 5:15 in the 1600 and 11:08
in the 3200, taking her to the Section finals.
Possible Concentration: Undecided
Parents & Siblings: Iain and Casey Mickle, brother Colin
Personal Information of Interest: Olivia plans to study chemical engineering and is interested in social justice issues. Because she's not previously had the opportunity to train with a team, she is very excited about running with the Brown Bears.
