HANOVER, NH - The Brown women's tennis team concluded action at the Dartmouth Invitational on Sunday. Six Bears were still alive in the main singles brackets and two doubles pairs were still in the main doubles bracket heading into the competition.
In "A" singles, sophomore Amanda Saiontz (Miami, FL) won her first match, 6-1, 6-4, before falling to the #1 seed in the semifinals, 0-6, 6-1, 10-2. In "B" singles, freshman Anita Ivancevic (Delray Beach, FL) earned a 6-2, 6-4 win in her first match, before falling in the semifinals to the #1 seed in the bracket, 7-5, 6-2.
In doubles action, the sophomore duo of Saiontz and Michelle Pautler (Kamuela, HI), the #2 seed, earned an 8-4 win in their first match, before falling to the #6 seed, 8-6 in the semifinals.
This marked the final individual competition for the Bears this fall. Following a three-month break from competition, Brown will resume acton on February 5, when it hosts Colgate at 3:00 p.m.
