Bears Fall to Yale, 5-2, in Final Match of Season

NEW HAVEN, CT - The Brown women's tennis team (5-14, 1-6) closed out the season with a 5-2 loss to Yale on Wednesday afternoon. Brown fell behind after the doubles action, winning one of the three matches, and Yale earned wins at the top four singles spots to post the 5-2 win.

In doubles action, juniors Michelle Pautler (Kamuela, HI) and Kara Zeder (Miami, FL) earned an 8-4 win at #2, but Brown lost at #1 and #3 as Yale took the 1-0 lead.

In singles action, Pautler earned a 6-3, 6-1 win at #6 singles and freshman Sara Mansur (Houston, TX) picked up a three-set win (6-2, 4-6, 1-0 (5)) at #5 singles for Brown's two points.

Junior Amanda Saiontz (Miami, FL) pushed her match at #2 to three sets, but fell in a third set super tiebreaker, 10-4.
