Bears Earn 4-3 Win over Yale in Final Match of the Season

PROVIDENCE, RI - The Brown women's tennis team (11-9, 2-5) picked up a 4-3 win over Yale on Wednesday afternoon, the Bears final match of the 2005 season. Brown dropped all three doubles matches, but came back to win four of the six singles matches and earn the win.

Sophomore Amanda Saiontz (Miami, FL) led things off with a three-set win at #1 singles, winning 6-4, 1-6, 6-3. After dropping matches at #2 and #3 singles, Freshman Anita Ivancevic (Delray Beach, FL) picked up a 7-6 (5), 6-3 victory at #4. Freshman Ashley Pariser (Alexandria, VA) and sophomore Michelle Pautler (Kamuela, HI) gave Brown the win with victories at #5 and #6, respectively. Pariser won in three sets, 5-7, 7-6 (5), 6-4, while Pautler earned the win in straight sets, 6-4, 6-4.
