Women's Tennis Downs Cornell, 5-2

PROVIDENCE, RI - The Brown women's tennis team improved to 15-7 overall and 4-2 in the Ivy League on Saturday afternoon, defeating Cornell, 5-2. Sophomore Kerry Meath (St. Paul, MN) led Brown combining with sophomore Alex Arlak (Leonia, NJ) for an 805 win at #1 doubles, and winning at #1 singles, 7-5, 7-6 (3).

The Bears claimed the doubles point to start the match as junior Victoria Beck (Wellington, New Zealand) and freshman Stephanie Falconi (New York, NY) earned an 8-5 win at #2 doubles.

In singles action, Beck won at #2 in straight sets, while losing just one point (6-1, 6-0). Singer also won in straight sets and lost just one point, winning at #4 singles (6-0, 6-1), while Falconi earned an 8-5 win at #5.

The Bears continue action on Wednesday, April 23, hosting Yale at 2:00 p.m. in their final match of the season.
