PRINCETON, NJ - The Brown women's tennis team dropped its Ivy opener, falling to Princeton, 7-0. With the loss, the Bears fall to 9-5 on the season. Brown lost all three doubles matches, but battled in singles action, as four of the six singles matches went to three sets.
Sophomore Amanda Saiontz (Miami, FL) won the second set, 6-2, at #1, before falling in the third set, 7-5. At #3 singles, sophomore Daisy Ames (Atlanta, GA) won the first set, 6-2, before dropping the next two, including a third set that went to a tie-breaker, and a 7-6 (5) final score. At #4 singles freshman Anita Ivancevic (Delray Beach, FL) won her first set, 6-4, before dropping the next two. Freshman Ashley Pariser (Alexandria, VA) earned a 6-2 win in the second set at #5, but dropped the final set.
The Bears continue action tomorrow when they face Penn at 12:00 noon in Philadelphia.
