The Brown women's tennis team (8-4) dropped a 4-3 decision to #75 UC Irvine in the Championship match of the UC Irvine Invitational, March 30. The Bears fell behind early, dropping all three doubles matches as Irvine claimed the 1-0 lead. In singles action, Brown dropped the first three matches, but came back to win the last three for the final 4-3.
At #4 singles, freshman Amanda Saiontz (Miami, FL) came away with a 6-4, 6-4 win, while freshman Daisy Ames (Atlanta, GA) won at #5 singles, 7-5, 6-2. Freshman Michelle Pautler (Kamuela, HI) earned Brown's third point, winning at #6 singles, 6-2, 6-2.
The Bears continue action on Thursday, April 1, when they take on Loyola Marymount in California.
