Bears Fall to Florida Atlantic, 4-3

BOCA RATON, FL - Florida Atlantic captured a three-set match victory for the fourth and deciding point in the Owls' 4-3 victory over Brown (4-7) on Monday afternoon at Patch Reef Park.

The match began with the Bears taking the doubles point, by winning at #2 and #2. Juniors Daisy Ames (Atlanta, GA) and Kara Zeder (Miami, FL) earned an 8-5 win at #2, while juniors Michelle Pautler (Kamuela, HI) and Amanda Saiontz (Miami, FL) posted an 8-5 win at #3.

The two teams then moved into singles play. Ames led the way with a 6-4, 6-4 win at #1, while Saiontz posted a 6-2, 6-3 win at #3. Brown lost straight-set matches at #5 and #6, and dropped three-set matches at #2 and #4.

The Bears continue action on Wednesday, March 29th, when they travel to Miami to face #55 Florida International.
