The women's tennis team improved to 7-4 on the season with a 4-3 victory over Boston College on Sunday, March 16. Brown was led by sophomore Kerry Meath (St. Paul, MN), who claimed a victory at #2 singles (7-6 (5), 6-4) and paired with sophomore Alex Arlak (Leonia, NJ) for an 8-6 win at #1 doubles.
The Bears claimed the doubles point by winning all three doubles matches as they headed into the singles part of the competition leading 1-0. In addition to Meath and Arlak's win at #1, junior Victoria Beck (Wellington, New Zealand) teamed with freshman Stephanie Falconi (New York, NY) for a 9-7 win at #2, while the freshman duo of Mariana Lee (Honolulu, HI) and Kimberly Singer (Newport Beach, CA) took an 8-4 win at #3.
In singles action, Brown also won at #4, as Singer won in straight sets (7-5, 6-2) and at #5, where Arlak picked up a win in straight sets as well (6-4, 6-1).
Brown continues action on Wednesday, March 19, hosting Boston University in the Pizzitola Center at 2:00 p.m.
