Women's Tennis Blanks Charleston Southern, 7-0

Freshman Adriana Marianella won at #1 singles and at #2 doubles to help lead Brown to a 7-0 win over visiting Charleston Southern on Wednesday afternoon.

The Bears started the match off by winning the doubles point as Marianella and junior Olivia Wong combined for an 8-1 win at #2 and freshman Kerry Meath and junior Caroline Casey combined for an 8-1 victory at #3 doubles as they improve their dual doubles record to 7-0.

In singles action, after losing the first set, 2-5, Marianella fought back to win the second 6-0 and the third 6-2. Sophomore Victoria Beck earned a 6-1, 6-0 win at #2 singles, while freshman Alex Arlak won at #3 singles, 6-0, 6-1. Meath Improved her singles record to 15-1, winning at #4 singles in straight sets, 6-1, 6-0, while Casey won at #5, 6-0, 6-0. In the final match of the contest, junior Maria Elena del Valle picked up a victory at #6 singles, also winning in straight sets, 6-1, 6-0.

Brown continues action on Sunday, March 17, when they face Boston College at noon in Boston.
