Women's Tennis Falls In Close Match To Temple, 4-3

The women's tennis team dropped a close 4-3 decision to Temple on Sunday afternoon, falling to 4-2 overall. Freshman Kimberly Singer (Newport Beach, CA) led the way for the Bears, winning at singles and at doubles.
The Bears started the day, winning the doubles point as junior Victoria Beck (Wellington, New Zealand) and freshman Stephanie Falconi (New York, NY) combined for an 8-2 win at #2, while Singer and freshman Mariana Lee (Honolulu, HI) took an 8-5 decision at #3.
In singles action, sophomore Alex Arlak (Leonia, NJ) won at #5 in straight sets (6-2, 6-2), while Singer won at #6, also in straight sets (6-0, 6-1). The match came down to the third set in freshman Yelena Klurfeld's (Brooklyn, NY) match at #2 singles with the match tied 3-3. Klurfeld won the first set 6-4, but fell in the next two as Temple inched past the Bears.
Brown continues action on Saturday, March 1, when the Bears host Rutgers at 12:00 noon in the Pizzitola Center.
